the Internationale has been brought in by the Central Office of Information and the UK Department of Health to develop and deliver a series of training courses around the country for Communicators from Strategic Health Authorities, Primary Care Trusts and other parts of the NHS.

In June 2008, paul caplan ran a 2-day event in Durham for Health Communicators from the North East region. The following MP3s give a taster of the event:

  • DAY1: Introduction to the day, Google Ads and small stories, the quantity and quality of information. [16 mins, 20MB mp3]
  • Web 2.0, the Live Web, PASSION & VISION [27 mins, 32MB mp3], discussing opportunities & challenges [14 mins, 18MB mp3]
  • Reading the Live Web, RSS, aggregators and the Daily Me [19 mins, 23 MB mp3]
  • Writing the Live Web, open comments, telling stories and opening conversation relationships [21 mins, 24MB mp3]
  • DAY2: Strategic planning, embedding the Live Web [31 mins, 36MB mp3]
  • Crowd sourcing and citizens journalism [9 mins, 11MB mp3 & 21 mins, 24 MB mp3]
  • Action planning, what are you going to do? [17 mins, 20MB mp3]

If you only listen to one section, take a few minutes to listen to this last one, not for Paul's words of wisdom but for the delegates who come up with the sort of plans that if they indeed became policy across the NHS would work wonders.

  • The same event was held in Wakefield on 10 September 2008. Here's the Action planning from there [11MB mp3]
  • And again in Taunton on 29th October. Listen to the great Action planning from the guys in the South West [4MB mp3]
